Happy New Year 2013!

Happy New Year everyone! First post of the year will be dedicated to feature some of my best buys from Tokyo. On my very last day in Tokyo, I bore the cold of 6 degree celsius and took these shots; need I say I couldn't be happier with the outcome. The perfect location ended up being a packing lot nearby with lots of greenery, twig covered walls and shabby garages.

Topshop toggle coat, Topshop sequin dress, See by Chloe Poya crossbody, Michael Kors watch , Topshop crystal ring, buckle rings from Japan, Bally sandals

For a long time, I have associated toggle coats with Paddington Bear, I used to get glued to the tv every time the show comes on. Then now that I am deeply attached to acquiring new clothes I had set my eyes on Elle's gorgeous toggle coat. Frankly speaking, being terrible at saving is something I am guilty of, this coat with contrast trimmings is the next best thing I have came across.

At the same store, I found this lovely dress hanging on the sales rack. Can you believe it was on full price just two days ago and I nearly bought it? Thus I have and always will have a love hate relationship with sales. I personally love that the beaded dress is understated enough to last me from day to night given credence to the neat lines and clean color. The little details from scallop edge to red lips provided a punch of excitement to this monochromatic outfit.

The sandals and crossbody are finds from Gotemba premium mall, I did came across some lovely YSL sandals too but given it would limit my shopping budget by a huge fraction, I left without them. These Ballys has similar mid heels and not to mention I have a soft spot for vintage style. They come in a nude shade as well but looking after suede is already a pain to begin with.

The Poya crossbody has a sweet scallop edge and interwoven chain strap, I choose the black patent simply for the clean aesthetic. The leather bow on the chain strap is divine.

  3. I love the cross body bag! The scalloped edges are darling!

I felt the same about sales a couple of days ago with target and their neimen marcus line. luckily some stores can do a price adjustment within a certain amount of days.

    Happy New Year!

  4. Love your special OOTD!

Don't know if it can still be done, but back in the 80s, in NY, my cousin Carole would purchase something AND THEN if it went on sale, she would return it AND BUY IT BACK AT THE CHEAPER PRICE. Retail establishments hated her, but - they did it!
